info@satnamscaffoldings.comA practical guide to selecting, checking and using mobile access towers as part of a controlled work-at-height plan.

Mobile scaffolding towers provide a compact working platform for maintenance, installation, painting and inspection tasks. Their mobility is useful, but it also means the floor, movement route and operating procedure must be reviewed before work begins. A tower should never be selected only by looking at the required reach.
The site team should confirm the platform height, base dimensions, access method, indoor or outdoor conditions, number of users and tools or materials expected on the platform. Assembly and use should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the project’s work-at-height procedure under competent supervision.

Define the actual platform level and the space needed to perform the task without unsafe overreaching.
Check doorways, aisles, lifts and assembly space before choosing a standard, narrow or stairway configuration.
Review floor condition, nearby openings, overhead services, weather exposure and vehicle or pedestrian movement.
Check frames, braces, platforms, guardrails, access components and locking points for damage or incorrect assembly.
Confirm castors, brakes and stabilising components are fitted and used according to the selected system.
Keep the surrounding area clear and prevent unauthorised movement or interference while the tower is in use.
People, loose tools and unsecured materials should be removed before repositioning unless the system instructions explicitly state otherwise.
Move only across a suitable level surface with enough clearance for the full tower and its stabilising components.
Apply brakes, confirm level and inspect the tower again before anyone returns to the platform.
Mobile towers are most effective when selection, assembly, inspection and movement are treated as one coordinated process. Satnam Scaffoldings can help project teams discuss tower type, platform requirement, access constraints and rental duration before material is finalised.
